Some Quotes I’m Liking Right Now

More than plenty for me to ponder this day …

“There is no skill better to acquire than to be conscious of the present moment, be willing to let go of everything you’ve ever learned and jump into a spontaneous, weird and unknown new life. All the planning in the world can never prepare you for the time when you must leap into the unknown all by yourself. Welcome to that moment.”  ~ Jackson Kiddard

“Life is a series of natural and spontaneous changes. Don’t resist them – that only creates sorrow. Let reality be reality. Let things flow naturally forward in whatever way they like.”  ~ Lao Tzu

“All growth is a leap in the dark, a spontaneous, unpremeditated act without benefit of experience.”  ~ Henry Miller

“The best way out is always through.”  ~ Robert Frost

“All that happens to us, including our humiliations, our misfortunes, our embarrassments, all is given to us as raw material, as clay, so that we may shape our art.”  ~ Jorge Luis Borges

“Your living is determined not so much by what life brings to you as by the attitude you bring to life; not so much by what happens to you as by the way your mind looks at what happens.”  ~ Kahlil Gibran

“It all depends on how we look at things, and not on how they are themselves.”  ~ Carl Jung

“Though we can’t always see it at the time, if we look upon events with some perspective, we see things always happen for our best interests. We are always being guided in a way better than we know ourselves.”  ~ Swami Satchidananda

“No one can create negativity or stress within you. Only you can do that by virtue of how you process your world. ~ Wayne Dyer

“If you want to succeed in your life, remember this phrase. The past does not equal The future. Because you failed yesterday; or all day today, or a moment ago, or for the last six months; the last 16 years, or the last fifty years of life doesn’t mean anything…All that matters is what are you going to do, Right Now.” ~ Tony Robbins

“When you are in alignment with who-you-really-are, you cannot help but uplift those with whom you come into contact. Your value to those around you hinges upon only one thing: your personal alignment with Source. And the only thing you have to give to another is an example of that alignment-which they may observe, then desire, and then work to achieve-but you cannot give it to them. Everyone is responsible for the thoughts they think and the things that they choose as their objects of attention.” ~ Esther Hicks

    Hi, Gorgeous Woman!
Here’s a poem for you to enjoy–early Yeats in his lyrical element:

One is right to think of Thoreau in the first stanza, though Thoreau would probably be more interested in rooting out huckleberries in Concord than standing at the edge of a lake in Ireland. I was reading Yeats today, and this poem made me think of you–“I will arise and go now, and go to Panama,. . ”

When I was younger, I went to Innisfree to see it for myself, and of course, took along my copy of Yeats from college, with the lines all underlined, and the erudite professor’s notes on the side, never realizing that one day I’d be there, taking my own notes from my own pulse as I read the poem there, mentally erasing all of the silly notes in place of my inner reflections. Hard to beat the lyricism of :

“And I shall have some peace there, for peace comes dropping slow” (l. 5) or

    “There midnight’s all a glimmer, and noon a purple glow,” (l. 7)

One thinks of Byron’s “She walks in beauty like the night” in terms of line power . . .

Continued healing and love, Christina. We’re all out here thinking about you and wishing strength and patience to the ankle!

Love, luck and laughter no matter the mood,

    • Christina says:

Oh, Richard, most sophisticated, erudite one yourself! Thanks for sharing all that!

Lovely to have you along for this ride!
